Job description
As the first official contact for any embassy visitor, answers questions, provides guidance and takes the necessary steps to notify the appropriate person/section that a visitor has arrived.
Works closely with Marine Security Guards and Local Guard Force.
Pre-screens visitors to ensure they have been placed in access control databases and have the appropriate identification.
Directs visitors to appropriate services such as Consular, American Citizens Service and the PAS Information Resource Center.
Assists American Citizens with information and basic services such as contacting hotels, police, etc. Assists Marine Security Guard with language translation as required.
Job requirements
Experience: Minimum of one year of general clerical work experience to include working with basic MS Office applications is required. One year of work experience in the Embassy is required.
Job knowledge: Should have a working knowledge of the various offices in the Embassy and their functions.
Education Requirements:
Completion of high school/secondary school required.
Evaluations:
Language: Level 4 English (Fluency, reading/speaking/writing) required. Level 4 French (Fluency, reading/speaking/reading) required and Level 3 (working knowledge) Wolof required.
Skills and abilities: Must pay attention to detail. Must be service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Must be responsible, alert and reliable. Must know how to use a switchboard. Good computer skills are required.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.
